About the Role

We are seeking a talented AWS backend developer to join our cross-functional team in Digital Technology Services, a core function that provides engineering services to the rest of Centrica. Our team is responsible for building, testing, and running our platforms in production.

We have a range of office locations across the UK, and we are committed to providing a well-being and benefits package that supports our employees' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and manage end-to-end solutions across various platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Salesforce.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software using Typescript, Java, Python, and other technologies.
  • Collaborate with the team to drive engineering solutions and best practices across Centrica's Integration platforms.
  • Work on innovation projects in hackathons and influence specialist areas like Security, SRE, and Quality.
Requirements
  • Experience building backend applications and serverless architectures on AWS.
  • Proficiency in using Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Strong experience using API technologies and knowledge of engineering best practices and continuous delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, good verbal and written communication skills, and a team player.
  • Approachable, passionate, and open-minded about using and discovering new tools and technologies.
