Job Summary:

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supporting Education Specialist to join our team in a Primary school in Bradford. As a Supporting Education Specialist, you will work closely with the lead teacher to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students with special needs.
  • Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism, in a 1:1 or small group setting.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs and challenging behaviors.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
