Driving Instructor

Canby School District is seeking experienced Driving Instructors to provide behind-the-wheel training for students of varying skill levels. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule, including weekends and both day and night driving opportunities.

General Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive driving instruction to cultivate safe and responsible driving habits.
  • Adhere to established curriculum guidelines and designated driving routes.
  • Maintain the condition of training vehicles and promptly report any issues.
  • Communicate effectively with students and their families.
  • Complete all necessary documentation following each session.
  • Collaborate with the Driver Education Coordinator as needed.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Residency in Oregon with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Age of 21 or older and current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Comfort driving in diverse weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods and lift equipment when necessary.
  • Capacity to react swiftly to emergencies and operate the instructor brake effectively.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of Oregon traffic laws.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a genuine enjoyment of working with teenagers and their families.
