Job Overview

Venn Group is seeking a dedicated Net Zero Finance Innovation Manager to support our mission in achieving a comprehensive Climate Change and Environmental Strategy. This role is pivotal in facilitating the transition to Net Zero for the region by 2045.

Position Details:

Start: Immediate

Compensation: £500 per day (Inside IR35) for Full Time or £700 per day (Inside IR35) for Part Time

Contract Length: 15 Months

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the Council's understanding of the intricate challenges associated with financing local net zero initiatives for both urban and rural settings.
  • Oversee the creation and evaluation of a range of net zero projects in collaboration with investors to establish a robust evidence base for community-focused investments.
  • Develop and refine the concept of a Net Zero Assistant class or similar framework, utilizing best practices from various regions and insights from the PANZ project.
  • Transform concepts into actionable plans by assembling a real-world case study that integrates a collection of Net Zero projects to explore financing avenues and commitments.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of academic, industry, and policy documents to foster innovative methodologies for Net Zero investments.
  • Lead the examination of economic studies to identify financing opportunities for place-based net zero initiatives, focusing on understanding the key drivers and obstacles to scaling efforts.
  • Recognize the local capabilities and flexibilities of organizations, particularly within the public sector, that can be leveraged to promote green economic outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • A degree (BSc, MA, MSc, MBA) or equivalent professional qualification in financial modeling, economics, or accounting.
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA) or currently pursuing ACCA/ACA at a finalist level.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of financing and investment frameworks, especially those relevant to developing new project portfolios.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various financing sources and their application to environmental or social initiatives.
  • Proficient in modeling and analyzing complex financial scenarios to guide discussions with investors and stakeholders.
