Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist to join our team at NHS National Services Scotland. As a Medical Fitness to Drive Assessor, you will play a critical role in assessing individuals to determine their medical fitness to drive a car, their need for adapted controls, or their requirements while traveling as a passenger in a vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess individuals to determine their medical fitness to drive a car, their need for adapted controls, or their requirements while traveling as a passenger in a vehicle.
  • Work as an independent practitioner to maximize service provision, including the delivery of safe and effective clinical practice.
  • Participate in SMART wide initiatives of Quality and Clinical Governance.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to individuals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong background in occupational therapy or physiotherapy, with a focus on clinical assessment and rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and recommendations.
