About the Role

The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the leadership and management of their respective hospital as a component of the trust's portfolio of hospitals.

As a member of the Executive Team, the CEO will ensure there is constant and visible site leadership to direct and lead clinical and corporate services, underpinned by strong corporate governance.

The CEO will promote our vision and ten-year strategy, underpinned by our refreshed clinical strategy, to harness the skills and expertise of our clinical staff to drive improvements in patient care and realise the merger benefits.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will play their collective leadership role in the trust developing a professional culture that attracts, nurtures, develops and retains a compassionate, skilled, and flexible workforce.

This includes enabling diversity in all its forms, a culture of learning and improvement and an ability to lead service innovation and transformation, working with clinical teams across the integrated care system.

Key Relationships

The post holder will work closely with Executive Directors, the Trust Management Executive, Trust Board, Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (MSE ICS) leaders, regional and local leaders, Trade Union bodies and representatives, Staff networks, Staff Governors, Care Quality Commission (CQC) and other regulators, Essex Partnership University Foundation Trust, Essex County Council, and district councils, and Third Sector Organisations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business related subject.

  • Development of strategic plans and strategies which can be translated into operational delivery and improving outcomes.
