Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Inventory and Revenue Accountant to join our team at Parkside Recruitment. As an integral part of our UK finance team, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day financial activities related to inventory control and reporting of cost of sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management
    • Responsible for the valuation and reconciliation of group inventories in line with IFRS requirements and consolidation of financial statements (IFRS and UK GAAP) for UK filing purposes
    • Reviews and analyses landed costs to ensure that inventory is valued accurately (on a product, SKU and location basis) in accordance with IFRS
    • Leads the financial audit in relation to stock checks and inventory reconciliation. Responsible to implement audit recommendations
  • Reporting
    • All reporting requirements related to inventory and cost of sales
    • Monthly inventory analysis (levels and changes)
    • Manufacturing cost variance analysis
  • Cost Accounting
    • Monthly update of standard costs in the bill of materials
    • Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
    • Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
    • Accumulate and apply overhead costs, as required, by using robust accounting principles
  • Reconciliations
    • Reconciliation of balance sheet for areas in scope, including inventory
    • Responsible for reconciliations and stock checks of components, WIP, semi-finished goods and finished goods
    • Calculation of stock provisions
    • Making true-up and revaluation adjustments to ensure that bulk supplied from OPC is valued in accordance with transfer pricing policy
  • Central Distribution Hub Accounting
    • Accounting for stock movements between packaging plants and Arvato and from Arvato to customers
    • Reconciling stock movements at the packaging plants and Arvato
    • Reconciling stock movements with sales transactions at Arvato
    • Monitoring, reconciling and resolving discrepancies with Arvato on a regular basis during the month
  • Controls
    • Responsible for ensuring controls over inventory are robust and movements are recorded accurately

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA), preferably with a relevant Finance or Accounting degree
  • Broad Finance and Accounting experience with operational business experience
  • Previous experience with inventory management and standard costing preferred

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Advanced level in MS Office packages, integrated accounting systems including SAP and related transactional, report generating software and experience managing data (both batch control and financial)
  • Proven ability to process high volumes of data rapidly and operate routine workflows and processes
  • Understands what constitutes good internal control and governance
  • Broad and in-depth Finance knowledge with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to individuals with limited finance knowledge and provide definitive financial advice
