Job Title: Contracts Manager

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of multiple fit-out projects and large-scale projects throughout the United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review contract details, tender documents, and pre-construction information to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Exercise good contractual knowledge on JCT and D&B contracts to ensure effective project management.
  • Review tender programmes and create construction programmes and information release schedules to ensure timely project completion.
  • Initiate site mobilization and oversee site setup to ensure a smooth project start.
  • Hold pre-start meetings with subcontractors to discuss project requirements and expectations.
  • Travel to project sites weekly to monitor progress and address any issues that may arise.
  • Liaise closely with the project QS and site manager to ensure cost control and programme requirements are met.
  • Manage approved subcontractors to ensure health and safety is upheld and programme requirements are met.
  • Monitor live projects for quality of work, cost, and programme implications, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Carry out regular CM inspections on site visits to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Attend project meetings and create regular progress reports to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Exercise a proactive attitude to ensure client requirements are achieved and company standards are met.
  • Control and oversee the snag and de-snag of projects using the SnagR system.
  • Control and organize the compiling and issuing of all CDM H&S and O&M manuals.
  • Attend project handovers and demonstrations to ensure a smooth project completion.
  • Hold post-contract wash-up meetings to review project performance and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Experience managing and tendering contracts for large-scale works and multiple site smaller works.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage timeframes and budget while maintaining terms of contract.
  • Ability to travel throughout the UK for project sites.
