Job Description

Page Personnel is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Control Manager to join a global facilities management and outsourcing business based in Salford Quays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing and Reporting
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payrolls for employees
    • Execute statutory reporting requirements for HMRC, including Real Time Information, Full Payment Submissions, and Employer Payment Summary
    • Perform Auto Enrolment processes in accordance with Pension Regulator Legislation
    • Provide support and advice on payroll-related matters and ensure PAYE is operated appropriately
  • Payroll Accounting
    • Reconcile payroll postings to SAP FI/CO on a weekly/monthly basis
    • Reconcile HMRC and Irish Revenue employer liabilities against SAP payroll output and finance balance sheets
    • Monthly review of PAYE accounts to alert Head of Tax of any anomalies
    • Settle HMRC payments for PAYE, Class 1A, and Class 1B
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead the payroll control team, providing clear direction and strategic planning
    • Perform regular meetings and one-on-one sessions with team members
    • Provide open and transparent communication, allowing for two-way feedback
  • Other Payroll-Related Activities
    • Specialist knowledge of Equated Pay, Agenda For Change, and AE legislation
    • Manage multiple employment and aggregation of earnings
    • Perform new build tasks, including wage types, pension schemes, employee contracts, and rewards schemes
    • Manage Form 42 (Share option reporting) and PAYE Settlement Agreement
    • Report on expenses and benefits, as well as National Minimum Wage legislation and Auto Enrolment Pension Reform
  • Control and Compliance
    • Report, reconcile, and settle employee tax liabilities
    • Identify areas of process risk resulting from non-compliance
    • Identify non-compliance in respect of statutory legislation
    Requirements
    • Proven track record in a similar role, managing high-volume payroll
    • Understanding of Real Time Information
    • Shared service centre experience (desirable)
    • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems (desirable)
    • Proven ability to manage and lead a team of 6+ staff
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
