Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Wills and Probate team at Clear Legal and Financial Recruitment. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide administrative support to our team, ensuring the smooth operation of our probate and estate administration services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client files and ensure all matters are dealt with in accordance with our procedures
  • Develop knowledge of files to enable effective communication with clients and other team members
  • Liaise with our new client team regarding engagement and anti-money laundering requirements
  • Coordinate client appointments and prepare necessary paperwork for meetings
  • Receive and make telephone calls to clients and other third-party organizations
  • Prepare documents for the team
  • Keep electronic files and other firm records/databases updated
  • Prepare accurate file notes and minutes of meetings
  • Scan and file incoming post and documents

Requirements

  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in the strictest confidence
  • Career progression and legal training with the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) for the right candidate
  • At least one year of legal experience in a similar role would be preferable, but relevant experience in other industries will be considered

Working Hours

We offer a flexible working arrangement, with a minimum of 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. While our standard full-time hours are 38.75, we are open to discussing alternative arrangements to suit the right candidate.
