Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Wills and Probate team at Clear Legal and Financial Recruitment. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide administrative support to our team, ensuring the smooth operation of our probate and estate administration services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage client files and ensure all matters are dealt with in accordance with our procedures
- Develop knowledge of files to enable effective communication with clients and other team members
- Liaise with our new client team regarding engagement and anti-money laundering requirements
- Coordinate client appointments and prepare necessary paperwork for meetings
- Receive and make telephone calls to clients and other third-party organizations
- Prepare documents for the team
- Keep electronic files and other firm records/databases updated
- Prepare accurate file notes and minutes of meetings
- Scan and file incoming post and documents
Requirements
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Good IT skills
- Ability to manage own workload and prioritize to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in the strictest confidence
- Career progression and legal training with the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) for the right candidate
- At least one year of legal experience in a similar role would be preferable, but relevant experience in other industries will be considered
Working Hours
We offer a flexible working arrangement, with a minimum of 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. While our standard full-time hours are 38.75, we are open to discussing alternative arrangements to suit the right candidate.
