Job Title: Compliance Surveillance Technology Specialist at ICBC Standard Bank

Overview:
The Compliance Surveillance team is responsible for overseeing Market Conduct, Financial Crime, and Conflicts of Interest risks. Utilizing advanced automated systems for monitoring transactions and communications, the team also conducts manual assessments. Close collaboration with Compliance IT is essential to ensure ongoing innovation and adherence to regulatory standards.

Role Objective:
This position is integral to the Governance and Controls team within Surveillance, concentrating on governance and assurance of surveillance mechanisms. Key duties involve providing technical support for rule evaluations, conducting data analysis, and updating documentation to improve surveillance functions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical evaluations during rule assessments
  • Document enhancement requirements
  • Collaborate with Compliance IT on rule logic development
  • Develop testing strategies and plans
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and root cause investigations
  • Revise rule specification documents
  • Support the Governance and Controls work program

Essential Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Values:

  • Extensive experience as a Business Analyst
  • Technical proficiency (SQL, database management)
  • Familiarity with Surveillance systems
  • Engagement with Compliance stakeholders
  • Understanding of change management and development processes
  • Strong drafting and presentation abilities
  • Background in Banking
  • Knowledge of financial instruments
  • Experience in Front Office domain and proficiency in Mandarin are advantageous
