Mobile Heavy Plant Fitter Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Heavy Plant Fitter to join our client's team in Surrey. As a key member of the workshop team, you will be responsible for conducting repairs, servicing, and maintenance of heavy plant machinery, including excavators, loaders, and dozers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure machinery operates at peak performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults efficiently and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborate with the workshop team to troubleshoot issues and optimize equipment functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and services performed, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and apprentices.
  • Assist in the management of parts inventory and ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter is essential.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in heavy plant maintenance (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving license preferred.
