Job Summary:

As a skilled Electronics Technician at Cattron Group International, Inc., you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electronic components, parts, and equipment to maintain new and existing products. This role requires travel to customer sites on occasion to provide high-quality service to customers, OEMs, and manufacturers' representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough tests to diagnose malfunctions in electronic equipment, using test equipment and software, and applying knowledge of electronic units and systems.
• Demonstrate proper use of equipment and analyze problems to diagnose and correct malfunctions.
• Inspect components of industrial/rail equipment for accurate assembly and installation, and for defects such as loose connections and frayed wires.
• Verify customer equipment for compliance with product specifications.
• Consult with customers, supervisors, and engineers to resolve problems in system operation and maintenance, and to clarify design details.
• Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems.
• Complete and check all job tickets, including records of material usage and number of items repaired.
• Prepare and submit management reports, advising management on customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements.
• Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, and tests.
• Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine issues.
• Assist other departments in resolving equipment and related problems.
• Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
• Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components, and record effects on unit performance.
• Check functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Enter information into computer to copy program or to draw, modify, or store schematics, applying knowledge of software package used.

Requirements:

• Ability to acquire basic product knowledge.
• Ability to use hand tools to pack shipments.
• Good verbal skills and competence in proofreading, editing, spelling, composition, and vocabulary.
• High level of organization and attention to detail.
