About the Role

Johnson Controls International is seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Engineer to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you will be responsible for completing fire detection and gaseous suppression servicing on electrical systems at a nuclear power station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the on-site team to complete fire detection and gaseous suppression servicing on electrical systems.
  • Undertake client and third-party training to work on a nuclear site.
  • Occasionally work alongside colleagues to assist with mechanical and passive fire system works.
  • Communicate with clients on a daily basis to receive work instructions and permits to work.
  • Provide on-call cover to the single site of work, on a week-on-week-off basis.
  • Complete fire detection maintenance testing, commissioning, witness testing, and client training on site where required.
  • Report any near misses/H&S issues with immediate effect to the FLM and client.
  • Complete site documentation to ensure both accuracy and expediency.
  • Work to high standards of health and safety, ensuring compliance with all legislation.
  • Behave in a manner consistent with Johnson Controls culture and actively promote this culture within the team through inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment.

Requirements

  • Experience on nuclear power stations and their regulations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • People management skills with the ability to develop and supervise a team, preferably within a field role.
  • Ability to deal with new and unexpected situations with a proactive and professional approach.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and inspire and influence others.
  • Electrical experience ideally within the fire detection industry.
  • MUST hold a full driving license.
  • Relevant gas suppression experience (CO2, Inergen & Novec), and passive fire protection equipment is desirable.
  • Must be willing to travel for training when required.
