Service Engineer (Control Systems)

Join our team at Omega Resource Group as a Service Engineer (Control Systems) and take on a challenging role that requires expertise in electrical control systems, automation, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide reactive site support for customer automation control applications, including PLCs, VSDs, robots, and SCADA systems.
  • Offer 24/7 reactive callout support, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Employ a methodical approach to problem-solving, identifying and resolving complex electrical control system issues.
  • Conduct workshop testing of engineered automation control systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Investigate and repair components, including PLCs, VSDs, robots, and SCADA systems.
  • Develop and maintain accurate site logs and timesheets, ensuring seamless project tracking.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of bespoke training courses to meet customer requirements.
  • Support and train colleagues, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical support, conduct site audits, and generate quotations.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven experience with variable speed drives from leading manufacturers, including Siemens, ABB, Danfoss, Rockwell, CT, and Servo drives.
  • Strong background in PLC programming and software, with expertise in Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Omron products.
  • Robot experience is highly desirable, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and commissioning engineers.
