About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Air Freight Operations Manager to join our team at DHL Global Forwarding. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Air Freight Forwarding Agents and overseeing the end-to-end Air Freight operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the movement of pharmaceutical and medical goods across various transport modes, ensuring compliance with customer SOPs, temperature requirements, UK GDP regulations, and Customs Compliance.
  • Manage and build customer relationships, liaising with carriers, handling agents, transport, warehouse teams, and overseas offices to resolve issues and ensure smooth shipment planning.
  • Shipment management using Cargowise, supporting team development, leading team briefings, and conducting staff training when required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in supervising or leading a team, with a strong background in Air Freight operations and knowledge of export operations.
  • Knowledge of HMRC procedures (CDS) and an understanding of shipping within the life-sciences/medical industry is desirable.
  • A high attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize and manage workloads efficiently in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Excellent customer relations skills, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service to our customers.
