Key Responsibilities:
As a Lead Civil Engineer, you will:

  • Supervise, mentor, and train the site personnel to maximize their productivity and effectiveness.
  • Report any discrepancies and directives from clients or design teams to the Project Manager, Quality Assurance, and Quantity Surveying teams.
  • Maintain a comprehensive daily site log, documenting changes, subcontractor activities, and discussions with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with inspection and testing protocols, risk assessments, and method statements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee the documentation of Quality and Technical Assurance, assisting the Engineering team in the creation and implementation of necessary documents.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in civil engineering projects.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering (MEng/BEng/Foundation Degree/BTEC).
  • Proven experience in a similar role within civil engineering, particularly in highways or structural environments.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and manage both direct and subcontracted work.
  • A strong commitment to maintaining high Health & Safety standards on-site.
  • A solid understanding of contractual obligations and the ability to support the commercial team in cost management and engineering efficiency.
  • Experience in integrating civil engineering designs into construction phases and coordinating with other project disciplines.
  • Capability to draft tender scopes and technical specifications for civil engineering tasks.
