Job Description

As a Principal Civil Engineer at EGIS Transport Solutions, you will play a key role in leading our engineering team to deliver high-quality projects that meet the needs of our clients. Your expertise in civil engineering will be essential in ensuring that our projects are designed and constructed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage engineering teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and CAD technicians to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete their tasks.
  • Coordinate and manage engineering activities to ensure that they result in civil engineering schemes that are affordable, meet programme requirements, and are safe and environmentally responsible.
  • Monitor projects to ensure that they are engineered to the standards and specification of the client.
  • Implement systems and procedures to maintain a cost-effective, high-quality, safe, and environmentally responsible approach to design, construction, commissioning, and other technical activities on relevant projects.
Requirements
  • Professional Engineer Registration status with the Engineering Council (UK) and be registered with an appropriate professional institution.
  • Technical qualifications to degree in relevant subject BEng/MEng.
  • Project and team-running experience in UK consultancy, client, or contractor organisation.
  • Excellent understanding of Eurocode, Network Rail and associated rail standards, and related regulations (CDM, CSM, RIR).
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate, and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Excellent engineering, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • CITB CSCS scheme.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK.
