Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Part-time MFL French Teacher to join our team at Inspired Education Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French and leading the school's MFL provision, inspiring children, teachers, and parents alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging French language lessons for students from Nursery to Year 6.
  • Lead the MFL department with vision and flair, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students.
  • Stay up-to-date with new teaching styles and innovations in education, including statutory requirements and best practices.
  • Review and upgrade the French curriculum regularly, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
  • Develop links with other schools within the Foundation to share best practices and promote collaboration.
  • Teach across the full primary age range, differentiating lessons to cater to all ability levels.
  • Monitor student progress, assessing and recording pupil development, socially and academically.
  • Provide an extended curriculum for fluent students, ensuring they continue to grow and develop.
  • Ensure full use of audio/visual and I.T. resources to enrich the MFL curriculum.
  • Invite guest speakers to enrich and diversify the curriculum.
  • Manage the MFL budget for books and educational resources.
  • Enter students in competitions and festivals, promoting French language and culture.
  • Promote French through extracurricular activities, such as subject weeks and events.
  • Make provision for EYFS and self-initiated learning, contributing to all EYFS profiles.
  • Prepare for and attend parent consultation evenings, contributing to reports as required.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status/PGCE.
  • Relevant teaching experience, preferably in the prep/primary environment.
  • Proven track record of strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent subject knowledge of French at primary level.
  • Ability to promote the subject within the school, ensuring it caters for individual learning requirements.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of best practices in assessment of pupil progress in Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Current and growing knowledge of resources available to this area of responsibility.
  • Effective communicator, both in written and oral form.
  • Commitment to the personal development of pupils and the protection and safeguarding of children.
  • True professional with appropriate levels of personal presentation and conduct.
  • Outstanding outlook towards pastoral care of children.
  • Preparedness to promote the department, ensuring it caters for learning requirements.
  • Well-organised, with good time management skills, and high level of computer literacy.
  • Willingness to further professional skills, knowledge, and abilities.
