We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Anatomical Pathology Technician to join our team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our mortuary team, you will play a vital role in providing support to our pathologists and clinicians, ensuring the smooth operation of our mortuary services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the mortuary team, including data entry, record-keeping, and communication with external agencies.
- Assist with the receipt and control of consumables, including the management of mortuary equipment and supplies.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of body checks, including identification, undressing, and storage of deceased individuals.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and departmental policies.
- Collaborate with the mortuary team to ensure the efficient transfer and collection of deceased individuals, including the use of hydraulic hoists and other equipment.
- Perform other duties as required, including the use of the Tutela system to monitor fridge temperatures and respond to alarm calls.
We are looking for an individual with previous experience in working with the general public, preferably in a profession allied to medicine. A strong understanding of health and safety regulations and departmental policies is essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Education equivalent to 4 GCSEs, including mathematics and English, is required. Previous experience in a mortuary or funeral directors is desirable.
