Financial Accountant Job Description

Engage Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be supporting our long-standing client, a highly regarded and distinguished Manufacturing business, based in Ayrshire.

Our client is now expanding its finance team to appoint a commercially-minded Financial Accountant. The successful candidate will mainly be based in Ayrshire and will have group-wide responsibilities for the UK finance function. This will occasionally involve travel to each of the group locations as and when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts and related reports for a number of UK entities
  2. Leading the budgeting, forecasting, and audit process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  3. Preparing financial projections and assisting in the development of financial models
  4. Supporting business managers by providing profitability, KPI, production, and cost summary reports
  5. Providing financial insights to support decision-making
  6. Liaising with external auditors, preparing and reviewing audit schedules, and leading the audit process
  7. Working with other departments across several locations
  8. Reviewing business processes and internal controls, making appropriate recommendations for improvement
  9. Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting
  10. Playing a significant role in the implementation of a new group accounting system

Your Key Skills and Experience:

  1. Professionally Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ICAS/CIMA) or equivalent
  2. A minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience
  3. Commercial acumen
  4. Highly analytical and problem-solving abilities
  5. Proven track record working to deadlines under pressure
  6. A strong decision-maker and results-focused

This role offers a competitive salary between £50,000-£60,000 DOE.
