Job Title: Senior Network Engineer - Wifi

Role

As a key member of our IT Services team, you will play a crucial role in designing, deploying, and maintaining our university's wireless network infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure that our network aligns with our Enterprise Architecture principles and supports the business objectives of the University.

You will lead on the design and deployment of our wireless network, ensuring that your teammates are appropriately skilled to understand and deliver on the agreed architecture and related technology. Close collaboration with other teams within IT Services and from across the wider University will also be essential, together with developing and nurturing relationships with strategic external delivery partners.

With an ability to prioritise your own activities as well as those of others, alongside a desire to deliver key customer-focussed services, you will play a key role in ensuring wireless related services are delivered effectively and efficiently, supporting the business objectives of the University.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy wireless network infrastructure that aligns with Enterprise Architecture principles
  • Lead on the design and deployment of wireless network solutions
  • Collaborate with other teams within IT Services and across the University
  • Develop and nurture relationships with external delivery partners
  • Prioritise activities and deliver key customer-focussed services

Requirements

  • Level 6 qualification (degree or equivalent)
  • Substantial experience of designing, delivering, and operating enterprise wireless network services
  • Significant knowledge of network and related security technologies
  • Experience in managing business-critical services and projects
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-skilled IT network team
  • Experience in establishing and managing relationships with external partners and suppliers
