Cyber Security Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Cyber Security to join our team at Sherborne Talent Solutions. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our Cyber Security team and developing a comprehensive security strategy to protect our digital assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Cyber Security team and collaborate with IT Operations to define and execute the security strategy and roadmap.
- Manage and mentor the Cyber Security team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy to protect our digital assets from unauthorized access or unintended activities.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance our security posture.
- Proactively identify security deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in IT strategy planning activities and bring current knowledge and future vision of security to align with business needs.
- Analyze and predict trends to develop long-range plans to maintain the effectiveness of our security strategies.
- Manage a penetration testing and vulnerability assessment program to identify and address potential security risks.
- Contribute to the design and build of cloud-based infrastructure and architecture to ensure optimization from a security perspective.
- Contribute to the design and build of customer-facing platforms and applications to ensure security best practices throughout the SDLC.
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of cyber security with a strong technical background.
- Experience in people management and leadership.
- Detailed understanding of application security and experience working with software development teams to provide support and advice on best practices for maintaining security.
- Significant experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) and network detection and response (NDR) technologies.
- Detailed knowledge of Information Security standards, including Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, and ISO27001.
- Good understanding of Linux and database technologies such as Ubuntu, Apache, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Nginx, Mercurial, and Git.
- Good understanding of cyber security practices related to cloud hosting, preferably with experience in AWS.
- Good understanding of open source risk management using enterprise management tools.
- Positive attitude and high degree of enthusiasm.
- Understanding of Service Management disciplines, ideally using the ITIL framework.
- Ability to stay updated with technology trends and comprehend key technical drivers in the industry.
