Logistics Operations Manager

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Logistics Operations Manager to enhance their established management team. This role operates on a standard weekday schedule, ensuring a work-life balance without weekend or holiday commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
The Logistics Operations Manager will oversee and mentor the transport team, ensuring that both company and client expectations are consistently met.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop the transport personnel to foster growth and success.
- Operational Excellence: Guarantee that daily transport operations align with service level agreements, collaborating closely with the General Manager.
- Continuous Improvement: Encourage innovative thinking and a culture of progress to enhance operational efficiency.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships across the operation center and broader organization to ensure seamless support and performance.
- Compliance and Legal Standards: Ensure all fleet vehicles and team members adhere to legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations, including Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive, with guidance from the Regional Transport Manager.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- CPC (National or International) certification and a valid UK Driving Licence
- Proven experience in people management and leadership
- A strong focus on customer service for both internal and external stakeholders
- A positive and proactive mindset
- The ability to inspire and engage team members
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in computer systems, particularly transport management software
- A flexible approach with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Experience in team development and implementing new operational practices
