Seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to provide mechanical designs for the Facility Design Authority (FDA) ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and requirements associated with engineering design throughout the facility lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver mechanical engineering designs that address defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard.
  • Ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle, liaising with other discipline areas to ensure overall design intent is maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with Company Assurance Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure application of standards is proportionate and that engineering best practice is adopted.

Requirements:

  • Producing mechanical designs as part of a multi-discipline design team.
  • Working knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to mechanical engineering.
  • Competent in standard office software, and engineering tools and applications.
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated environment (preferably nuclear and / or explosives).
  • Knowledge of legislation and standards associated with nuclear and / or high hazard facilities.
  • ONC / OND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
  • HNC / HND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
