About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Craft Operative to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining and improving our canal network.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks on various structures and assets within the canal system.
- Operate a range of plant and equipment, including chainsaws, hand power tools, and fork lift trucks.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to carry out tasks accurately.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (or experience) e.g. City & Guilds Level II, NVQ Level II in a relevant trade such as joinery, carpentry, or bricklaying.
- Proven experience handling plant/equipment within group A (e.g., chainsaw, hand power tools, fork lift truck).
- Experience working within a relevant construction discipline.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Full Valid UK Driving Licence.
