Job Title: Senior Principal Consultant

Location: Remote working UK time zone required

Type: Full-time permanent position

Salary: Up to 75k base dependent on case-by-case basis

Industry: Mining/Consultancy

Job Description:

  • Work with leading mining companies, industry organizations, and finance institutions to integrate nature into business decision-making
  • Play a crucial role in shaping the future of nature sustainability in the mining sector
  • Work across various sectors including linear infrastructure, ports, and agriculture applying lender safeguards

Responsibilities:

  • Project delivery and management including technical design of complex projects
  • Undertaking assessments to understand project risks and impacts, and identifying mitigation opportunities
  • Developing strategic proposals and expanding business through networking
  • Public speaking and communication to elevate brand visibility
  • Team management and mentoring junior consultants

Requirements:

  • At least ten years of relevant experience in development projects focusing on mining
  • Experience in applying lender requirements, particularly International Finance Corporation's Performance Standard 6
  • Solid consultancy experience
  • Experience in managing multiple complex projects
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • GIS skills, willingness to travel globally, and work in challenging environments
  • Track record of business development and client relationship management
  • Good Honours degree in a relevant discipline

Desirable Attributes (Not Essential):

  • Background as a field conservation specialist
  • Experience in reviewing work and providing QAQC
  • Ability to work in French or Spanish
  • Experience in supervising or managing individuals and/or teams
  • Postgraduate qualification or PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Experience working in Africa, Latin America, or Asia
