Key Responsibilities- Deliver individualized patient care of the highest standard, acting as the named nurse and ensuring assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation are in line with evidence-based practices.
- Take a senior role within the ward, providing leadership and mentorship to more junior members of staff.
- Promote safe practice and professional conduct, and be competent in the recognition of life-threatening/emergency situations.
- Organize workload in-line with clinical priorities, and establish good working relationships with specialist practitioners and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective care and treatment of patients.
- Contribute to research and development programs, as well as uphold quality initiatives that improve 'customer/patient care,' and participate in the audit process where appropriate.
- Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.
- Post-registration acute surgical ward experience with sound evidence-based knowledge in general nursing, and familiarity with various nursing models.
- Previous experience in orthopaedics and spinal surgery.
- Effective interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills and respect for a diverse range of patients from various cultures and backgrounds, with the confidence to assess situations and make clinical decisions appropriately.
- A competitive salary range of £44,639 - £54,572 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting and shift enhancements.
