Job Summary

Mint Selection is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee and manage the mechanical aspects of a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Gas Peaking project. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising mechanical construction activities, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all mechanical construction activities on-site, including installation, testing, and commissioning of BESS and Gas Peaking equipment.
  • Manage a team of mechanical engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring all work is performed according to project specifications, timelines, and budget.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (electrical, civil, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of all project components.
  • Ensure all mechanical work complies with relevant standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Identify and rectify any defects or issues promptly to avoid project delays.
  • Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations on-site.
  • Conduct safety briefings, risk assessments, and ensure all personnel are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties safely.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications or trade qualifications will be considered.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • CSCS
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a mechanical supervisory role within the energy sector, preferably on BESS or Gas Peaking projects.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale industrial or energy projects from construction through to commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
