We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Department Practitioner to join our team at Luton and Dunstable Hospital. As a Theatre Nurse / ODP, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the evaluation of stock levels and ordering/unpacking supplies.
- Act as the patient's advocate, ensuring their safety, well-being, and dignity.
- Assess the patient's level of anxiety or discomfort and provide advice, reassurance, or other actions as necessary.
- Participate in a variety of Patient Safety initiatives as directed by the Theatre Services Operational Manager and Senior Practitioners.
- Uphold patient confidentiality at all times and in all situations.
- Provide accurate and timely patient information onto the Theatre Management System to ensure theatre activity data.
- DipHE Operating Department Practice or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the NMC or HCPC.
- Experience in Operating Department Practice/peri-operative setting.
- Ability to communicate with staff at all levels within and outside the Trust.
- Ability to communicate with patients who may have complex health care issues and a variety of sensory/communication/physical/mental health/language needs.
