The Product Category Specialist will play a crucial role in facilitating the optimization of comprehensive supply chain operations. This position entails assisting the Procurement team and other departmental leaders in executing their strategic initiatives, sourcing, procurement, and category management to ensure streamlined operations, cost efficiency, and alignment with overarching business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Sourcing and Procurement:
o Assist in the geographical expansion of sourcing strategies aimed at achieving cost reductions, quality enhancements, and supply reliability.
o Perform market assessments to uncover trends, opportunities, and potential challenges within the supply chain.
• Category Management:
o Support the development of market pricing strategies.
o Oversee product lifecycle management.
o Evaluate performance metrics and devise action plans to enhance profitability and market presence.
o Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to foster business growth and innovation.
o Formulate marketing strategies in conjunction with the needs of procurement, production, and sales teams.
• Supplier Relationship Management:
o Establish and nurture robust relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
o Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance and implement necessary improvement strategies.
o Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and sustainability practices.
• Inventory and Logistics Management:
o Supervise inventory levels to maintain optimal stock and minimize waste.
o Assist departmental leaders in implementing best practices for inventory oversight and demand forecasting.
• Financial Management:
o Identify avenues for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in account management, agricultural management, procurement, or supply chain management within the food sector.
• Comprehensive understanding of food supply chain processes, market dynamics, and industry trends.
