About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious researcher to join our team at UCL Eastman Dental Institute as a Lectureship/Associate Professorship in Experimental Earth Materials. The successful candidate will have a strong background in experimental earth materials, rock physics, experimental petrology, and/or mineral physics, and will be expected to contribute to the development of our research program in these areas.
About the Position
The Lectureship/Associate Professorship is a full-time permanent academic post that will be available at Lecturer (Grade 8) or Associate Professor (Grade 9) level, dependent on experience. The successful candidate will be expected to embed themselves within our research community, aiming to use or extend our facilities to realise their own ambitious research programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality research in experimental earth materials, rock physics, experimental petrology, and/or mineral physics
- Develop and lead research projects, including obtaining external funding as PI
- Teach and supervise students at undergraduate and graduate levels
- Contribute to the development of our research program and strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with other researchers within the department and across UCL
About You
The successful candidate will have a strong publication record in leading international research journals, and will be able to demonstrate evidence of obtaining external funding as PI to pursue research activities. For consideration at Associate Professor level, candidates will have evidence of sustained research funding to support an independent research team from external sources, as evidenced by the holding of research grants as principal investigator.
