Role Responsibilities

As a member of this dynamic and supportive team, you will manage your own portfolio of Residential Property cases, which will include:

  • Overseeing a range of high-value freehold and leasehold transactions, including sales, purchases, transfers of equity, and remortgages.
  • Operating with a degree of autonomy while mentoring junior team members as necessary.
  • Responding to client inquiries both over the phone and in person.
  • Delivering expert legal guidance through the preparation and evaluation of legal documents, contracts, and agreements pertinent to residential property dealings.
  • Coordinating with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transactions.
  • Negotiating and addressing any legal challenges that may arise during the conveyancing process.
  • Collaborating proactively with colleagues across various practice areas to enhance opportunities for cross-referrals and teamwork.
  • Engaging in local business development and networking initiatives, actively promoting yourself, your team, and the firm to key local contacts.
  • Ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Maintaining high standards of file management and a thorough understanding of compliance requirements in this highly regulated field.
  • Continuing your professional development and taking an active interest in expanding your legal knowledge.
  • Conducting legal research to stay informed about changes in property law and regulations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Residential Property Solicitor (CILEX, SRA, CLC, or SQE routes accepted) with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in managing and advancing their own caseload within a residential property team. You will have a solid understanding of conveyancing processes, property law, and relevant legislation.

With a background in private practice, you will be comfortable working collaboratively in a busy team environment, directly engaging with clients and third parties to progress each matter effectively. You will be adept at discussing complex aspects of cases with clients, taking pride in your work, and being self-driven to achieve excellent outcomes for each client.

Your communication and client care skills will be exceptional, demonstrating professionalism, insight, and composure under pressure while managing deadlines and prioritizing tasks. Familiarity with case management systems would be beneficial, and you will be eager to contribute your insights and ideas to foster the collaborative environment that this firm promotes.
