Assistant Accountant - Sales Ledger

Orka Financial is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team in Rickmansworth. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing the Sales Ledger and ensuring accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate potential customers' credit history and financial stability to determine creditworthiness.
  • Track outstanding invoices and monitor the age of receivables to ensure timely collection.
  • Prepare regular aging reports to highlight overdue accounts and potential risks.
  • Work closely with customers and other departments to resolve and invoice queries.
  • Develop relationships with customers to encourage prompt payment.
  • Accurately record transactions within our accounting system.
  • Produce projects and service department invoicing for multiple entities.
  • Generate and issue invoices to customers based on service agreements, payment certificates, and sales orders.
  • Verify transactions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Load invoicing to customer portals where required.
  • Address and resolve any discrepancies or disputes related to billing.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all invoices.
  • Ensure all invoicing procedures comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
Requirements:
  • Robust experience in accounts administration.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of business accounts and knowledge of Sage Line 50.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Excellent numeracy skills and accuracy of input.
  • Ability to spot financial discrepancies.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Initiative and confidence in decision-making.
What We Offer:

£30,000 - £35,000 + benefits.
