Position Overview:
Our client, a reputable organization based in Telford, is seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant/Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.

Compensation:
Salary up to £50,000, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Financial Accountant/Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the transactional team and reviewing sales and purchase ledgers, stock management, cash flow, bank transactions, and general ledger entries.
  • Ensuring the effectiveness of financial processes, systems, and controls.
  • Maintaining statutory records for the organization.
  • Managing company taxation, including VAT, corporation tax, and other relevant taxes.
  • Handling fixed assets and capital allowances.
  • Managing treasury functions, including liaising with banks and preparing forecasting and management information data.
  • Conducting budgeting and forecasting, including cash flow and balance sheet management.
  • Preparing audited accounts and liaising with auditors.
  • Leading project management initiatives for process improvements and implementations.
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assisting with other ad-hoc duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and risk management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Project management experience.
