Avencia Consulting Services is seeking a dedicated Lead Tax Advisor to enhance our team. We are a prominent provider of fee protection insurance and tax advisory services across the UK, collaborating with a vast network of accountancy practices to foster growth and protect our clients' interests.
As part of our dynamic team of over 60 professionals, you will play a crucial role in our Tax Investigations Division. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering expert verbal and written tax investigation guidance to a diverse clientele, including accountants, business owners, and individuals.
- Utilizing relationships, technology, and social media to elevate your professional profile and promote our expertise.
- Collaborating with various departments to enhance knowledge of our service offerings, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and supporting marketing initiatives.
- Contributing to business development efforts and providing relevant technical insights aligned with our strategic goals.
- Upholding integrity and confidentiality in all interactions with clients and team members, fostering trust and respect.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- In-depth knowledge of tax inquiries, information powers, penalties, and relevant legislation.
- Experience managing inquiries related to personal, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
- Familiarity with HMRC disclosure processes, including the Let Property Campaign and Worldwide Disclosure Facility.
- Experience with HMRC's Counter Avoidance & Fraud Investigation Teams is advantageous.
- Understanding of specific tax areas such as payroll, residency, and capital gains reliefs.
- Proficient in researching complex tax issues.
- Experience in marketing and business development of tax services.
