The Central Rail Systems Alliance is a collaborative effort among leading organizations in the rail sector, dedicated to enhancing the quality of passenger experiences through innovative rail works across the nation.
Our alliance is uniquely positioned to foster positive advancements in the UK rail renewal sector by leveraging the collective expertise of our partners and promoting cooperative efforts.
By integrating extensive knowledge and experience in essential rail infrastructure and renewal projects, our alliance employs pioneering methodologies to achieve efficiencies and establish a more dependable railway framework.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities related to their assigned projects;
- Maintaining a comprehensive commercial dashboard to provide insights to the delivery team regarding their financial standing;
- Participating in weekly meetings, including project debriefs and commercial assessments;
- Overseeing all facets of subcontract management, including payment processes;
- Assisting in the pricing and submission of project changes;
- Supporting client monthly valuations;
- Aiding in Cost Value Reconciliation efforts;
- Monitoring significant plant and labor expenditures through detailed registers;
- Cultivating commercial relationships with both internal and external stakeholders;
- Ensuring compliance with the Gated Business Lifecycle process.
Candidate Profile
The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent professional experience;
- A well-organized, innovative, and resourceful Quantity Surveyor with a background in Rail Projects;
- Proven experience in cost management and value maximization;
- Familiarity with financial and commercial oversight within project settings;
- Experience collaborating within commercial teams;
- A commitment to mentoring and developing others;
- Background in infrastructure projects, demonstrating resilience and a drive for success.
