Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education to our students.
  • Develop and implement effective curriculum plans, ensuring that students meet their full potential.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a team of Geography teachers, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality education.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Geography department, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the Geography curriculum is aligned with the overall educational goals of the school.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community to ensure that they are informed and engaged with the Geography department.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status and appropriate qualifications in Geography or related disciplines.
  • Previous experience of holding a responsibility post in another school.
  • Successful teaching experience across a range of key stages.
  • The ability to motivate students and staff (teaching and non-teaching).
  • Experience of working with pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Experience of improving the quality of teaching and learning through curriculum development and high-quality resources.
