About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay abreast of relevant health and safety legislation and ensure the organization implements appropriate systems and procedures to comply with these regulations.
  • Develop, maintain, and review company policies, procedures, and management systems to guarantee a safe workplace for all.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into accidents and near-miss incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide comprehensive training and education programs on health and safety topics to employees at all levels.
  • Establish and maintain effective emergency response arrangements, ensuring staff are well-informed and prepared to handle emergencies.
  • Carry out regular safety inspections and audits across all areas of operation to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Analyze health and safety data, compile performance metrics, and provide recommendations to management based on safety performance indicators.
  • Oversee environmental protection initiatives and maintain a system of controls that exceeds current legal requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognized professional qualification in Health & Safety or Environmental Management is highly desirable.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a related field are advantageous.
  • Minimum three to five years of experience in a similar role within a comparable industry.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, particularly office software and process management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with individuals at all levels.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
