About the Role
MAG is seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team at Manchester Airport. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our airport operates in compliance with environmental legislation and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement processes and standards for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and controlling environmental risks, such as pollution, emissions, waste, and noise.
- Investigate environmental incidents and implement remedial measures.
- Provide expert advice and direction to operational staff on ecological matters.
- Liaise with stakeholders on environmental issues.
- Control environmental licenses and consents.
- Sustain the ISO14001 standard and the corporate EMS system.
- Facilitate the creation and enactment of anti-pollution initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree in environmental science or a related field.
- Member of IEMA or a similar organisation.
- Strong understanding of environmental legal requirements and pollution prevention.
- Ability to develop and manage mature environmental management systems.
- Auditor qualification, preferably as a lead auditor.
- Strong communication and influencing abilities.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
