Teaching Assistant Opportunity in a Specialist Primary Setting

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist primary school in Leyland. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to Key Stage 2 pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) and other associated learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to Key Stage 2 pupils with SEMH and other associated learning difficulties
  • Assist with classroom activities and tasks
  • Foster a nurturing and encouraging learning environment
  • Monitor and track the progress of students
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to create effective learning plans
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Forge and develop relationships with pupils
Requirements:
  • A passion for working with children with SEMH and a desire to contribute to their development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant experience in a special educational needs or care setting supporting children with additional needs is desirable
  • Level 2, 3 or 4 teaching assistant qualifications or relevant degree honours are highly advantageous
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
