We are seeking an enthusiastic Placement student to join our Customer Engineering organization, with roles in the Automotive Application Engineering Team in Darlington. During your placement, you will gain valuable industry experience and the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic and innovative environment.
This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence in July 2025. The role is a hybrid position with some remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be an integral part of the Customer Engineering Team, providing technical support to our commercial vehicle and industrial machine manufacturer customers in Europe.
- Provide engineering project management support for the application of existing powertrain products or the development of new technology applications.
- Conduct engineering analysis in support of new product application projects, focusing on powertrain optimization using simulation methods.
- Support application testing and lead small projects or sections of larger projects under guidance from experienced engineers and functional experts.
- Obtain technical information from customers and convey their voice into the new product development teams.
Requirements:
- Strong aptitude for STEM subjects combined with excellent communication skills.
- A curiosity for how things work and an aptitude for technical problem-solving.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Matlab is a plus.
