Job Summary

Polaris Community is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Team Leader to join our Residential Children's Services team. As a Team Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and manage a team of Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality childcare and support to young people.
    • Develop and implement effective strategies to promote a positive and safe living environment for young people.
  • Safeguarding and Risk Management
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of young people at all times, adhering to company policies and procedures.
    • Identify and mitigate risks to young people, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with young people, staff, and external agencies to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
    • Provide regular supervision and support to Residential Support Workers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Administrative and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and documentation as required by company policies and procedures.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Working towards or hold a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Experience and Skills
    • Previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behavior.
    • Good report writing and numeracy skills, with excellent administration and IT skills.
    • Able to relate to young people with empathy and commitment to high standards of childcare.
    • Strong motivational, management, and leadership potential.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people, staff, and external agencies.
