About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hoare Lea. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and support staff to deliver a consistent high-quality service for clients, ensuring repeat and new business opportunities are developed, and profitability is achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing mechanical engineering systems at the highest level using the latest software design packages.
  • Leading mechanical services design on large projects and taking overall lead on small to medium-sized projects within the office.
  • Developing initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to junior staff, ensuring they develop their skills and we get the best out of our people.
  • Working with the team leader to monitor fee expenditure, resource, and work delivered.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, and implementing new ideas and innovations.
  • Maintaining a high reputation within the local industry and ensuring adherence to quality management and risk control procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment, with excellent communication skills and a team-based work approach.
  • Ability to work across a range of projects and adapt to changing priorities.
