Job Title: Healthcare Support Worker

Total Care Recruitment is a specialist recruitment agency managed and led by a team of highly qualified social workers. We are seeking a full-time healthcare support worker for a range of shifts in Daisy Hill Hospital.

Job Summary:

The post holder will provide high-quality person-centered care for patients and their families. They will assist in all aspects of direct personal care for patients/clients and carry out other assigned tasks in support of and supervised by a registered nurse or midwife.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the provision of high-quality person-centered care for patients and their families.
  • Assist in all aspects of direct personal care for patients/clients.
  • Carry out other assigned tasks in support of and supervised by a registered nurse or midwife.
  • Follow the agreed plan of care.
  • Respect people's dignity, wishes, and beliefs and obtain their consent for treatment.
  • Assist with the care of patients' clothing, laundry, lockers, and wardrobes.
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and beverages for patients.
  • Assist patients to eat and drink and record and report same.
  • Maintain high standards of practice at all times.
  • Participate in the care of the deceased patient and their relatives.
  • Record and report care activities undertaken accurately to the nurse-in-charge.
  • Assist nursing staff in the delivery of person-centered care.
  • The post holder must ensure that all information regarding patients is kept in strict confidence.
  • The post holder will promote and support effective team working, fostering a culture of openness and transparency.
Essential Criteria:
  • Have an NVQ Level 2 Care Award or equivalent.
  • Be willing to complete an Enhanced Access NI Check.
