Contaminated Land Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Contaminated Land Consultant to join our team. As a Contaminated Land Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting contaminated land assessment and remediation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct site investigations, including supervision and management of site investigations.
  2. Perform field work, including soil logging, environmental sampling, and ground gas monitoring.
  3. Collate, review, and interpret data.
  4. Support with site investigation design.
  5. Prepare technical reports, including desk studies, site investigation reports, and remediation options appraisals and verification reports.
  6. Ensure all work is delivered in line with procedures and to the highest safety, health, and environmental standards.
Requirements
  1. On-site experience of site investigation and other similar field works.
  2. Experience in the preparation of Phase 1 contaminated land/geo-environmental desk studies.
  3. Knowledge of the requirements for planning, designing, and management of site investigations.
  4. Experience of soil logging.
  5. Application of the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations in site investigations.
  6. Understanding of the land contamination regime within the UK and the risk-based approach to the assessment of land contamination.
  7. Report writing, including presenting complex technical information in a concise and accurate manner.
  8. Data handling, including experience in the use of GIS is desirable.
Qualifications
  1. Relevant degree, e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, or environmental science.
  2. A relevant post-graduate qualification is desirable but not essential.
  3. Working towards or be prepared to work towards Chartership with a relevant institution.
  4. A full UK driving licence is required.
