We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Academic Leader to join our Acting department at BIMM Institute. As a Principal Lecturer, you will provide leadership and expertise in your specialist area of Acting, supporting the Course Leader and driving student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and lead modules, ensuring effective delivery and quality assurance.
- Develop and implement digital innovation strategies for your discipline.
- Assess and support student work, contributing to assessment processes and academic integrity.
- Provide academic and pastoral guidance to students, acting as an Academic Advisor.
- Collaborate with the Course Leader to enhance the student learning experience and contribute to curriculum development.
- Support student recruitment efforts and represent your discipline in governance and quality platforms.
- Engage in professional development, scholarly activity, and research where appropriate.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience and a significant profile within the relevant area of the creative industries.
- A good undergraduate degree or equivalent Higher Education or professional qualification, and a teaching qualification relevant to Higher Education or a Fellowship of Advance HE.
- Experience developing initiatives to enhance student participation and engagement, and supporting students academically and pastorally.
- Proven experience in effective and innovative curriculum and teaching development activities.
- Understanding of quality and standards in higher education and creative arts contexts.
- Demonstrable impact on improving teaching quality and successful student outcomes.
- Experience in implementing institutional policies and processes at the discipline level.
- Ability to use data to improve student outcomes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
