We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Caretaker to join our team at Polaris Education. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and security of our school premises.

Responsibilities
---------------
* Maintain clean, safe, and secure school premises, including building and grounds
* Carry out cleaning, handy person activities, routine maintenance, and refurbishment
* Supervise school cleaning staff
* Promote health and safety around the school
* Carry out porterage duties, such as moving furniture and equipment
* Maintain general school premises, furniture, and fittings
* Report any issues to the Head Teacher
* Carry out small repairs and DIY projects
* Arrange larger repairs and obtain quotes from contractors
* Carry out daily cleaning and ad-hoc duties
* Carry out emergency cleaning duties
* Arrange annual deep clean of classrooms and other frequently used spaces
* Maintain security of school premises as main key holder
* Lock and unlock premises as required
* Check premises at end of school day
* Set security alarm systems and respond to alarms
* Carry out regular health and safety checks

Requirements
------------
* Level Award in Support Work in Schools
* Previous caretaking experience in school environment
* Previous experience of building maintenance
* Previous experience of security, including alarm systems
* Good knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations
* Basic DIY skills
* Good interpersonal skills
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Ability to work in environment with SEMH children
* Willingness to undergo Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
* UK Driving License and own transport
