Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker

Gray Healthcare is a specialist Health and Social Care provider, supporting people with complex needs, disabilities and long-term conditions looking to step back into the community from in-patient support services.

We are currently recruiting a new team of mental health support workers within the Barrow-in-Furness area to support a lady in her 60's who has a diagnosis of Acquired Brain Injury sustained as a result of prolonged epileptic episode, who be living independently in her own home receiving 1:1 support 24 hours a day.

The lady we will be supporting has a good sense of humour, enjoys jigsaws, scrabbles, riding books and talking to her staff. She will be supported by a female only team on mixed shifts of days and waking nights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and Learning Disabilities.
  • Supporting individuals with behaviours which may be considered challenging.
  • Implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for the individual.

Requirements:

  • Social care experience, ideally within mental health.
  • Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and Learning Disabilities.
  • Experience supporting individuals with behaviours which may be considered challenging.
  • Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
  • Current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months.
