Job Summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board's Medical Directorate at Wrexham Maelor Hospital is seeking a Middle Grade Registrar to support the Gastroenterology Team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Admitting acute medical patients to the ward
  • Providing Gastroenterology opinions to other specialties under the supervision of a Gastroenterology Consultant
  • Participating in outpatient Gastroenterology clinics, depending on experience
  • Assisting with Ascitic drain ambulatory clinics and Endoscopy Training Lists
  • Teaching and supervising undergraduate medical students
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • MRCP Part 1 and MRCP Part 2 written PACES qualifications
  • Valid ALS certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in General Medicine at SHO level, signed off to CMT level
Desirable Qualifications and Experience

While not essential, applicants with the following qualifications and experience will be considered favorably:

  • Higher qualifications in a relevant field
  • Experience of middle grade rota at DGH level
  • Some experience in audit or research
Personal Qualities and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Adequate IT skills
  • Familiarity with NHS systems
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
